Change of insurer notice - AESA and APPP

The Board of BT Funds Management Limited has appointed AIA Australia Limited (AIA) as the new group life insurer for the insurance offered in our Asgard Employee Super Account and Asgard Personal Protection Package products, effective 1 July 2020.

AIA is an award-winning global insurer with over 47 years' experience in Australia, that shares our philosophy of supporting the health and wellbeing of our members.

The insurance arrangements for our Asgard Employee Super Account members and members with insurance cover under an Asgard Personal Protection Package policy will continue, however will be provided by AIA from 1 July 2020*.

There is no change for members who had a claim in progress before 1 July 2020. They can continue to contact their Claims Consultant.

If members need to make a claim, they can contact us for help.

This does not impact BT Protection Plan policies which continue to be provided by Westpac Life Insurance Services Limited (WLIS) on the Asgard platform.

Who is AIA?

AIA Australia Limited (AIA) has over 47 years' experience in Australia. They provide life insurance for some of Australia's largest super funds and currently protect over four million Australians.

Will I see AIA on the insurance forms and documents?

We are updating our insurance forms and documents to reflect AIA as our group life insurer as quickly as is reasonably possible.

In the interim, please continue to use our existing forms and documents.

Where can I go for more information about insurance through super?

Asgard Employee Super Account offers insurance options to help protect your family, your lifestyle and your investments in the event of a personal crisis. Learn more about insurance here. For more information about our Asgard Personal Protection Package, please refer to a financial adviser.

How can I find out more about my insurance arrangements?

Members can log into their Asgard account to see their current insurance arrangements at any time via Investor Online.

* From 1 July 2020 we'll share member's personal information, employer super plan's insurance details and adviser's details with AIA in line with our Privacy Policy.
