Important note

Asgard Managed Profiles and Separately Managed Accounts - Funds Super/Pension and Asgard Managed Profiles and Separately Managed Accounts – Funds Investment are no longer available to new clients since 5 December 2021. Existing clients are not impacted by the closure and will continue to have access to the current features and functionality of the products.

  • Asgard Super/Pension

    Asgard Super Accounts

Other features of your Asgard Super Account include:

    Transfer from Super to Pension

You can easily transfer part or all of your benefits from an Asgard Super Account to a tax-effective Asgard Allocated Pension Account.

We can transfer eligible investments without selling them, which means there is no disposal for capital gains tax purposes (Super Accounts or Transition to Retirement Pension Accounts only) and no charges associated with buying and selling investments. For the conditions that apply to these transfers refer to the Asgard Super/Pension PDS.

    Choice of Fund

Your Asgard Super Account is part of a complying super fund under ‘Choice of Fund’ legislation. We can accept any super contributions that you ask your employer to pay us (if you’re eligible).

    Asgard Pension Accounts

Other features of your Asgard Pension Accounts include:

    Access to benefits

Allocated Pension Account - with an allocated pension you can adjust the amount of your regular pension payments to suit your needs*. You can also choose the frequency of your pension payments and you can take all or part of your benefits as a lump sum payment.
*Note: This depends upon how much money you have in your account and is subject to limits set by legislation.

    Tax credits

Investment earnings in Asgard Pension Accounts are free of tax except for pre-retirement pensions (also known as transition to retirement pensions) which are taxable and treated in the same way as Asgard Super Accounts.

You should also receive the full value of any available franking credits on the investments that fund your pension.

    Transfers between Pensions

You can transfer part or all of your benefits from an existing Asgard Allocated Pension Account to another Asgard Allocated Pension Account without selling down your managed investments. This can eliminate transfer costs.

  • Term Deposits

You can now invest in a term deposit on Asgard, and with your interest rate fixed upfront, your money is secure for the length of the term.

Why invest in a term deposit?

Investing in a term deposit is a great way to get a return on money you have available while you look into other investments, like property. At rates higher than standard accounts, parking in term deposits makes real sense.

  • Regular deposit plan

A Regular Deposit Plan makes it easy for you to make deposits to your Asgard Account.

For as little as $100 per month you can make regular deposits into your Account and keep accumulating wealth in a more disciplined way.

Simply choose how much you want to invest, how often you want to make deposits and for how long.

Remember, the sooner you start the easier it will be to reach your financial goals.

  • Auto-rebalancing facility

Despite sounding like something your mechanic might do for you, this facility ensures that your investment profile is automatically maintained on either a quarterly, half-yearly or annual basis.

This means you don’t need to constantly monitor your investments or send your adviser manual investment instructions.

    How auto-rebalancing works

Over time, the investments in your account will change in value at different rates until they no longer represent the investment profile that you originally established with your financial adviser.

Since your original investment profile was carefully constructed to meet your financial goals, it’s important to rebalance your portfolio back to its original agreed proportions.

The unique auto-rebalancing facility ensures that your investment profile is automatically maintained on a quarterly, half-yearly or annual basis, so that you don’t need to constantly monitor your investments or send in investment instructions.

  • Borrowing to invest

With Asgard Investment Accounts, you are able to use a number of margin lending providers to borrow money to invest through your Account. This is called ‘gearing’ and it’s a powerful tool for wealth creation that can help you meet a range of investment objectives.

Gearing can enhance the after-tax return you receive on your investments, enhancing the total value of your investments over time. Conversely, if your investments perform poorly, you have the potential for losses. You should speak with your financial adviser to help decide if this strategy is right for you.

  • Disclosure documents

  • Fees

With Asgard, the fees that you pay your financial adviser are negotiated directly between you and your financial adviser. Asgard also gives you access to a range of wholesale managed investments with lower investment manager charges than retail funds (these are generally not directly available to retail investors).

For a full explanation of the fees that may apply, speak to your financial adviser or see the Product Disclosure Statement.
